Hello! I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend! Today we had awesome weather here in Oshkosh, WI! I had all of the windows open and did a whole lot of cleaning! I sorted through the kids' books, shoes, and art area. My sister recently started working at the Salvation Army, which has enlightened me as to how unfortunate some people are, and has inspired me to share all of the extra stuff we have. I will be sending five bags and a box home with her tomorrow to share with her clients.
Saturday night I took my Fancy Hats to be part of a Gallery Walk here in town. It was a total bust! I only sold four items and people were rude! I've been feeling more and more discouraged about my "business". I crochet because I absolutely LOVE to create stuff. So after I have made all of this stuff, what do I do with it? I just don't think I have the confidence and thick skin it takes to a business woman.
Lastly, tomorrow we are having a cookout at our house. My mom, sister and her husband, and my bestfriend's family are coming. It should be a great day!
Please share this blog with your friends!! I want to do a giveaway, but want to have more followers. So spread the word!!!!!

Back to School Cupcakes!
I made these special "apple" cupcakes for my husband to take to school (he is a high school science teacher) for all of the teachers as a back to school treat! These apples are special! When the teacher takes a bite, she/he will find either seeds (mini chocolate chips) or a worm (gummi worm)!!!
I made cupcakes from a plain old box cake mix. After they were cool, I cut a hole in the top and filled it with the mini chocolate chips or a gummi worm! I filled the hole with frosting and then frosted the top with red frosting. After the top was frosted, I dipped it in red sprinkles. The stem is half of a pretzel stick and the leaf is a green jelly spearmint leaf, rolled out flat and cut to size.
I can't wait to hear how the teachers reacted to finding a surprise inside of their cupcakes!!

Happy First Day of School!!
My son had his first day of Kindergarten today! I'm not going to lie, I did cry a little bit after I dropped him off! I know he will be fine, as he is a great kid and a great student! He adapts well to know situations, is a good listener, and makes friends easily. It's just that the house is so empty without him....even though I still have my four year old daughter at home with me, and she is a full time job by herself!! I have supper going in the crockpot and I think we'll head to Joann Fabrics next to partake in a little yarn therapy shopping!!
As I said, I have supper going in the crockpot. I'm making one of Michael's favorite meals: Crockpot Cheeseburgers with Sweet Potato Fries.
Crockpot Cheeseburgers
1.5 lbs ground beef
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp black pepper
8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
2TBS milk
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
hamburger buns
condiments
In a skillet, brown ground beef with garlic powder and black pepper, drain off fat. Put beef in a crockpot. Add cheese, milk, green pepper, onion, and minced garlic. Cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours. Serve on buns with favorite condiments.
Sweet Potato Fries
sweet potatoes
olive oil
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 425. Cut potatoes into wedges and put into a large ziploc bag. Add olive oil and salt/pepper. Shake bag until potatoes are well coated. Place wedges on a well greased baking sheet. Bake for 30-45 mins, or until desired tenderness

Greetings Followers!
Hello to my FIVE faithful followers!! I have not forgotten about my blog already, but I'm sad to admit that my enthusiasm is slowly dying! I had grand imaginations of sharing all of my birthday party ideas, and pictures of all my crocheted items. However, my lack of knowledge about technology is getting in the way. But I will keep plugging away at this!
Also, my little boy starts Kindergarten on Thursday! I'm so sad to let go of him for the whole day! So I'm feeling very stressed and overwhelmed about a lot of things.
I'm SO happy to have you five followers!! Spread the word, get more people here, and I will have a GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION!!
